Maudsley Learning – Launching the Autism Core Capabilities rEPosiTory: Findings from the ACCEPT Project

About the Workshop

South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) have worked with the Intellectual Disabilities Programme working across the South East within Health Education England, third sector organisations, subject matter experts and experts by experience on a national 12 month project to identify and share a range of approaches to support health, social care and public facing workforces across England to use the Core Capabilities Framework for Supporting Autistic People (2019).

The project involved a mixed methods design and included a national online survey, Delphi Survey, focus groups and interviews. This helped SLaM review current evidence and practice, mapping existing initiatives against the framework, and creating a repository of information for people to develop their work further in this area. As part of the project, SLaM also wanted to find out how people use the Core Capability Framework and share a range of approaches to support all health, care and public facing workforces across England to effectively make use of it and other relevant frameworks to help support autistic people their family and carers.

SLaM are excited to have made great progress and be able to present the findings of this project providing case study examples and testimonies from autistic people, their family and/or carers.
